How to Get Star Fragments in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Star Fragments can be found at night, after 9 pm (with a bit of luck), as shooting stars in the distance. These shooting stars can appear in a few regions, but you don't need to go any farther than central Hyrule for a chance to get one. If you see a shooting star light up like a beacon in the distance, you'll have until 5 am in-game time to reach it and pick it up before it vanishes.

It can be challenging to reach distant Star Fragments on foot, so be sure to tame a horse or eat a dish made with many Fleet-Lotus Seeds to speed things up. Eventually, you'll want to fly to those distant star beacons with the help of a flying Zonai Vehicle.

If you make it to the fallen star before 5 am in-game time, it will be all yours for the taking! However, you'll need a lot of these fragments, so be sure to grab them any chance you can.

Skydiving for Star Fragments

If you happen to launch yourself from a Skyview Tower at night, then there's a good chance a Star Fragment may briefly fall alongside you on the way back down to the surface. You'll have a chance to catch the fragment mid-air, but you can also follow it down and pick it up where it lands.

The Glider Armor Set is incredibly helpful for catching Star Fragments mid-air, as it will allow you to glide at just the right speed to line up with a falling Star Fragment, so be sure to try it when you get the chance.

Tips for Finding Star Fragments

• Skydive from Skyview Towers, such as Lookout Landing Skyview Tower, between the in-game hours of 9 pm and 5 am for the chance to spot a Star Fragment falling as a shooting star.

• The Glide Armor Set is incredibly helpful for catching Star Fragments mid-air while skydiving and gliding to distant locations.

• When on foot, be sure to ride a horse or eat a speed-enhancing food dish made with Fleet-Lotus Seeds for faster travel speed.

• Riding a flying Zonai Vehicle is an extremely fast way to travel to distant fallen stars.

• Use a campfire to time skip time whenever you'd like to hunt for Star Fragments at night.

• Falling Stars will usually fall in the direction you are facing. It can help to face a direction with terrain that is less challenging to traverse.

Star Fragment Uses

Star Fragments are essential for upgrading many Armor Sets at the Great Fairy Fountains. They also glow brightly, making them great for fusing onto a shield or weapon, lighting the way through dark areas. Other uses for Star Fragments include:

• Fusing with weapons and attaching to arrows.
• Cooking with food increases the chance of a more potent effect.
• Dyeing your armor white at the Kochi Dye Shop in Hateno Village.
