Fortnite Week 11 Valentine's Day Challenges Guide: Where to Find a Crossbow (2024)

It is that time once again where we gather around in Fortnite battle royale for our weekly attempts to complete various challenges and earn some awesome rewards in the process. This week, we are being introduced to the Fortnite Valentine’s Day challenges in Week 11 of Season 5.

Fortnite Valentine’s Day Challenges Are Here

This might be surprising to you since the current fifth season has now officially gone into overtime. But, for some odd reason, Epic Games has not officially extended this season, delayed the start of the next one, or given us an idea that we will be getting overtime challenges like these.

In the past, whenever a season goes on longer than it was intended to, there is usually one of two routes that Epic will take. The first is to state that the new season is being delayed and that overtime challenges are here to ensure that players will have something to do in the meantime.

The second route is not to say much and have some other events and challenges that come in and fill the gap left by the normal weekly tasks. But this time around, it looks like Epic Games is taking a possible third path and just continuing the season.

It seems that even though 10 weeks had already passed with theWeek 10 challenges last week, we are getting a unique scenario where the season continues like normal with unprecedented Week 11 challenges. But like much of the challenges this season, this week’s tasks have a theme.

This time around, the theme is the Fortnite Valentine’s Day challenges, as these are the ones that players will find this week, instead of Season 6 or some other normal missions. They are all themed around the impending holiday and have to fulfill tasks related to dating and love.

The Fortnite Valentine’s Day challenges are almost all rather unique, as you can see with the full list of them below:

• Catch three different kinds of fish to help with Valentine’s date with Fishstick
• Serve Fishstick and his date a fancy dinner at any restaurant on the island
• Find a rose at Steel Farm or The Orchard
• Collect Grimbles’ love potion from either Coral Cove, Fort Crumpet, or Stealthy Stronghold
• Deliver Grimbles’ love potion to either Slurpy Swamp or Shanty Town
• Collect three chocolate boxes from Pleasant Park, Holly Hedges, or Retail Row
• Choose a character to be Lovely’s valentine
• Legendary quest Week 11: Deal damage to opponents with the crossbow (five-part, multi-stage quest)

This week, there are seven normal missions like in past weeks this season, and then one extra timed legendary quest. This week’s missions have the same general theme as part of the Fortnite Valentine’s Day challenges and here to celebrate this lovey-dovey holiday.

Since all of these tasks are rather interesting and new to us, figuring out how to do them is difficult. That is where we come in as we have our tips and guides to complete all of the Fortnite Valentine’s Day challenges in Week 11 of Season 5.

How to Complete the Fortnite Valentine’s Day Challenges: Valentine and Fishstick’s Date

From what we can tell, the first mission on this list is a relatively standard one that is just a whole lot of fluff to make a typical task sound more interesting than it is. In reality, while you are furthering the Valentine’s story this week, catching three fish is just catching three fish.

In general, the player needs to catch three different fish types this week, and you are good to go on this mission; it is as simple as that. But, of course, finding one type of fish is relatively easy on your own, but it can be a bit challenging to find three different ones.

You need to find a fishing pole, for starters, typically found near locations that are great for fishing. Stuff like rivers, landmarks near water, named locations near water like Sweaty Sands and Coral Castle, and others will be great for finding fishing poles. It may take you some time but focus on fishing for a match or two — not fighting — and you should be able to find three different fish types.

For the second mission on this list, we have another one that sounds a lot more intimidating than it is. It looks like Fishstick and his date need themselves a place to chill and spend a lovely evening together. They are likely hungry and want something to eat for their Valentine’s dinner date.

Well, it is up to us to spark the love in their relationship and make sure that they have a special dinner this year. Again, this is a relatively simple task disguising itself as something much more than it is. In reality, you need to visit one of the main restaurants on the island.

You can pick whichever one you want, but some recommended restaurants that we like that are easier to find and visit than others, in our opinion. The first of these is Pizza Pit, found just north of Colossal Coliseum on the island.

The second of these is the fish restaurant located at Craggy Cliffs and takes up a large portion of the named location. This is Fishstick’s restaurant, so it is the perfect location to do this if you want the theme to be as strong as possible.

But, in reality, any of the restaurants will work for this mission. Go into the restaurant of your choosing and look for the particular table designated for their dinner date. Interact with it to “serve” up a good meal, and you are done with this mission.

Find a Rose and Grimbles’ Love Potion

For the next mission, you have to find a rose at Steel Farm or The Orchard. Both are landmark locations that don’t have names on the main island map, so you will need to know where they are located and complete this mission.

For Steel Farm, you can find it directly east of Colossal Coliseum and across the river that is near that named location. There is a small factory-like area here, and that is the first location you can visit for this. The second one is nearby and is The Orchard, which we have visited many past missions.

The Orchard is also near Colossal Coliseum and is north of it in the general area where it has always been in Chapter 2. Both of these are relatively small locations, so it doesn’t matter which one you pick, though we think that Steel Farm is a bit smaller than The Orchard and is easier to find stuff.

When you arrive at the location that you have picked, you need to find a rose here. Again, these are really small areas, so finding the location of these two landmarks will be harder for some players than finding the rose itself. Once you have located this flower, interact with it, and you are good to go.

Next up, we need to find another item on the map. This time, we need to find Grimbles‘ love potion at one of three locations. Epic Games is excellent this week in the Fortnite Valentine’s Day challenges by allowing players to pick where they want to complete their missions.

You can find the love potion at Coral Cove, Fort Crumpet, or Stealthy Stronghold. Two of these are named locations and, therefore, a lot easier to find on the map, so we recommend either Coral Cove or Stealthy Stronghold. For this guide, we are going to recommend Stealthy Stronghold.

It is effortless to find the love potion here near the middle of the jungle point of interest. Right near the middle of the named location are some ruins where you will find the love potion. Pick it up, and you will finish this mission.

Where to Collect Chocolate Boxes

For the next mission, you need to take that same love potion you found in the last challenge and take it somewhere else. The two options you have here are visiting either Slurpy Swamp or Shanty Town and taking the love potion to one of those spots.

Shanty Town is a landmark location and is harder to find on the island, so we highly recommend Slurpy Swamp for this reason. Once you reach this swampy point of interest, you need to head to the main warehouse area at the center of the named location.

You need to find the room with a teddy bear sitting on a chair for some odd reason when you get in there. You will see the love potion that happens to look for a variant of the shield juice we drink on the floor. Interact with it, and you will have delivered the potion somehow. You can also visit Shanty Town if you would like and do the same.

Following up on that challenge is the next one to collect three chocolate boxes from Pleasant Park, Holly Hedges, or Retail Row. Any of these three will work for this mission, and you can find some chocolate boxes at one location then more at others, and they will all count towards this quest.

From what we have gathered thus far, we have only found a couple of chocolate boxes at each named location. You will have to visit at least two different locations if you want to complete this quest. Our recommendations are Pleasant Park and Holly Hedges due to them being close to one another.

You don’t have to get all three chocolate boxes in the same match but, if you want to, these two locations are close enough to one another to make it easier to do this way. When it comes to Pleasant Park, the first of the two boxes are found on the west side of town in the central-western house facing the park and on the first floor.

We have found the second box in the southeastern corner of town and is in a house here facing the soccer field. You’ll find it in one of the bedrooms in this house. From there, we go to Holly Hedges, where there are two chocolate boxes as well, even though you only need three in total.

The first is at the very northern central point of the town, where the bench and the giant tree are usually found in the little garden area. The second one is in the southeasternmost house in town on the first floor of it. Find any three chocolate boxes out of the four mentioned.

Where to Find a Crossbow

The final regular mission this week is to choose a character to be Lovely‘s valentine this year. This is a pretty strange and vague quest that can be confusing if you don’t know what it is asking you to do. The gist of it is pretty easy to grasp once we explain.

There is a prerequisite quest for this one, similar to the two love potion challenges we did earlier. You will need to do the chocolate boxes quest first, or else you won’t complete this challenge. Once you have done that one, you will have a card to give out.

The card that you give out will complete this quest and give Lovely a valentine for the year. It doesn’t matter who you give it to, so long as they are one of the many NPCs that hang around the island waiting for you to interact with them.

Interacting with any NPCs will give them the card and allow you to complete this mission quickly. There are some pretty easy NPCs to find that hang out at various named locations like Craggy Cliffs andHunters Haven, so be sure just to hit up any of them that you choose (or ship with Lovely) and interact with them to finish this mission.

The final quest this week is the legendary one. You need to deal damage to opponents with a crossbow. The crossbow is the returning item in the game with the Valentine’s Day event and challenges. There are five parts to the quest, with the damage required increasing with each one.

This is recommended for a full squad of four players because of how much damage you must deal. You can find the crossbow in the limited-time game mode here for this event, so be sure to grab a party and spend as many matches as you need until you have the required damage to complete the legendary quest. Just make sure to do it before it expires in a week or so.
